CLEAR ALL CHANNELS IN YOUR COBRA OR UNIDEN/BEARCAT SCANNER
by Bob Parnass, AJ9S
According to the Uniden/Bearcat 200/205XLT Service Infor-
mation Manual, the following procedure will zero all 200
channels, then load channels 1-25 with various test fre-
quencies.
1. Press and hold three keys: 2, 9, and MAN simultane-
ously and turn the power switch on.
2. Set the power switch to the off position.
3. Repress and again hold three keys: 2, 9, and SCAN
simultaneously and turn the power switch on.
Some of the frequencies will be out of range, like 108.5
and 66.45 MHz, but will not permit reception.
This procedure works on other models as well. Harold
Wong tried it on his 100XLT. I tried it on my 760XLT,
Bill Vojak tried it on his Cobra SR-15, and Mark Smith
tried it on his Bearcat 70XLT. We all met with success!
